Individual Mandalas

Traditional acrylic mandala painting

These ancient art-forms represent the universe. The artist creates while contemplating symbols that express relationship to Self, Others, Nature, and the Cosmos. A mathematical compass is used to create concentric circles. The mandala might be drawn in watercolor pens, markers, colored pencils, or ink pens.

Group Mandalas

Mandala created in sections by a group

Making a mandala with a family or group is a visual expression of community. Each person may make a wedge of one large mandala, or each person may create a small, individual mandala which would then be framed as one large piece.
